February 1st, 2006

Well, the first day wasn't great as far as answers went.

The only correct entry I recieved was from Siddhartha Tiwari

Lets hope people start getting interested pretty soon.

Answers for yesterday's questions are:

1. Red chillies or red pepper(both acceptable depending on whether you read it in English or a translation in any Indian Language), Tintin first met Chang in the Blue Lotus. The name of the book in which this incidence happens is Tintin in Tibet
2. Loch Lomond is Haddock's favourite brand of whiskey
3. Both the flags belong to San Theodoros, but the first one is the flag used by General Tapioca during his reign and the second one was the original San Theodoros Flag
4. Borduria and Syldavia

Here are today's questions :

(Mail in the answers to: saikatb@india.altair.com or f2002252@gmail.com)
Captain Haddock

1. Name the person in the picture.

2. "Fidgy!fidgy!fidgy" when and where does Captain Haddock use these words. I want the name the person with whom this conversation was held. It is emperative that you know the name of the book for that, mention it too.
( Should have just called it reference to context ;))

Now the general questions :

3. The thom(p)sons feature in one asterix book. Name it.

4. Tintin helped a friend of his stage a bloodless coup during the festival advertised by this banner. Name the friend and the country in which it was staged. A little add-on question: What was the name of the capital of this country before the coup and what did it become after that?

Thats all for the day... looking forward to a slightly warmer response.
